We’re wrapping up this year’s summer vacations and the Croton-on-Hudson area couldn’t be more alive.

If you love to read aloud to share a story or recite dramatic dialogue with other people, this Book Club is for you. Each month we read a novel, play, or poetry. At meetings after briefly discussing the work, each member reads aloud a character’s dialogue, a poem, or narrates. Visit the Croton Free Library this Tuesday to check it out!
While it’s not in Croton, the annual Dutchess County Fair is a Hudson Valley event is a short drive away that you won’t want to miss. Running from Tuesday the 22nd through Sunday the 27th, families can enjoy animal exhibits, rides, food, crafts and more!
Want a break from the kitchen? Yuka’s Latin Fusion is offering 5$ Mojitos to help you relax after a long day and celebrate Wednesday. Grab some great food and unwind with friends in the Yuka’s bar and lounge. Their happy hour is amazing and at they’re offering house margaritas, house wines, and bottled beers for all under $5.
The Croton Free Library is inviting teen and adult colorists to drop in and unwind this Friday. Color beautiful, stress-relieving designs, and relax! There are sophisticated templates and designs to choose from and the Library staff provides high quality pencils to bring your creations to life. Enjoy a cup of tea with us, and cast off the cares of a busy week.
The Charles J. Cook pool is welcoming families to celebrate the end of summer vacation with an unforgettable pool party for the kids. There will be games, prizes, music and more to enjoy. So suit up and head over to the Cortlandt Youth Center for a splashing good time this Friday!
This weekend is absolutely action packed with different events and activities in Croton and the greater Hudson Valley.
All are welcome to the annual Oktoberfest in Montrose overlooking the river and the Olympic sized pool. This event is Saturday from noon to Sundown and tickets just $5.00 per person. Children under 12 are free! Guests can enjoy raffles at the booths, live German music, BBQ with Hot dogs, hamburgers, wurst, salads, drinks at the bar to purchase and the pool will be open! All proceeds to the raffle benefit KOH.
Learn how to trail run with the Salomon experts and Run on Hudson Valley. If you are a trail running veteran, fine tune some of your skills! The workshop will cover techniques on how to run uphill, downhill, and how to use trekking poles. Shoe demos, swag, and refreshments are available for all participants.
This Saturday through Monday, the Garrison Art Center hosts it’s annual Riverside Craft Fair. Guests can browse incredible work from local artists across the Hudson Valley. Bring a picnic lunch to enjoy on the river or sample some gourmet local fare and spend a day getting inspired at this fantastic event.
Jazz in the Valley returns to Waryas Park for it’s 17th annual jazz festival! Come enjoy breathtaking views of the Hudson River while listening to the music of masters of the jazz artform such as Jimmy Cobb, Elio Villafranca, Javon Jackson and Mala Waldron and more. Enjoy a huge selection of food trucks, concessions and some unforgettable local music.
