Snow machines in the distance make fresh powder for the ski slopes

Anyone else missing the SNOW? As we are fast approaching the spring season and all its glory I felt a little bit of nostalgia for our last big snowfall; snowballs and sleigh ridding were fast becoming a memory and I for one wanted to enjoy it one last time before I hung up my snow pants for the season. Lucky for me (and you too!) we live within an hour of one of the most family friendly mountains in New York; Mt. Peter located in Warwick, Orange County.  Mt. Peter offers a range of winter activities that is sure to match your interests and skill level; whether it is classic skiing, cool snowboarding, or fun tubing, it really has an activity for everyone. If snow sports are not for you, you can warm up with a hot cocoa at the cafe or chill out with a cold one at Pete’s Pub!

Since we were familiar with skiing at Mt. Peter we decided to give their Tubing Hill a go!  The Tubing Area is divided into 2 sections; a Main Area as well as a “Little Tikes Tubing Play Area”. The main section offers single use tubes (riders over 42″) and tandem tubes (riders 36″ to 48″ with an adult), riders ascend to the top of the 600-foot hill by the ease and convenience of a motorized conveyor carpet.  The “Little Tikes Tubing Play Area” (new this year) is geared for children under 42″, it still offers the same thrills of tubing but on a smaller scale for the newest of tubing enthusiasts!

This was a great way to spend a day with family and friends; tons of laughs, smiles all around, and snowy memories to last us till next winter!
